Catching Up

Last week we went to BalloonaPalooza. We have been to the carnival two years now, and haven't seen a hot air balloon fly yet. It's always too windy apparently. It was a lot of fun and Tucker loved riding the cars again this year. He isn't too terribly adventurous and so would not go on the dragon roller coaster or airplanes. Parley on the other hand wanted to go on everything. She cried every time Tucker went on a ride without her. She tried sticking her little body through the gate rales, but she was too big. After that we went to the baptism of a patient of Randy's. This one has had a hard life and has no teeth left (actually, Randy pulled, or I should say had to surgically remove several of her rotting teeth) and Randy is now working on her dentures. She is a good woman who has really taken with Randy. She anounced to everyone that her dentist had arrived when he walked in the room and she coudn't stop saying great things about him. Her baptism had only few people there, but the people loved her and it was a great experience.

On Monday, my friend Kara who works at William Sonoma invited me to a cooking class they were having. Not all the seats were sold so I got to go! It was great fun. He made Truffel soup, Turkey and Stuffing paninis, BBQ shrimp (didn't eat it), Filet Mignon sliders, and pumpkin creme brulee. It was all so delicious. The chef gave us all a gift certificate from his restaurant as well. Perfect!

Tucker is attending a Find Your Way preschool class. It's held at the recreation center and he learns about different states and where they are in comparison to Nevada. He loves it and really loves his teacher Miss Shannon.

Parley went to nursery for the first time today. She had a great time. She only cried at the end when one her friends hit her with a car. I peeked in on her when it was singing time and she was staring intently at the primary chorister. He is a big man that is an entertainer. His name is Bro. S. He is a very enthusiastic man that kids can't get enough of. He was singing Popcorn Popping which Parley usually sings along, but she couldn't peel her eyes off of S. I can't believe my baby is in nursery now. I was happy for her because she was excited and liked it, but sad because she is growing up so fast!

As for me, I'm trying to hold down the fort. I'm learning to enjoy cooking for my family and embracing the challenge of getting Parley to eat veggies. I've been rereading the Harry Potter series which has been fun after reading the ending. Like everyone else, I was bitten by the Twilight series. So fun. We had a Primary activity yesterday where we got the children ready and excited for General Conference. I really enjoy my calling in the Primary. We have a small group of kids, but they are great. Bro. S can get them to sing so loudly that everyone thinks we have a 100 kids instead of 30. I also got a new light for our kitchen we had a hideous light before, but I love this paper lantern from IKEA. I love that store!

Randy and I are getting excited and nervous as were waiting to hear back from schools about his pediatric residency. We are almost done!

Well, that's what's been going on around here this week.
